I pray still
I pray— For strength, for courage, for wisdom, And the sacred art to wield them well, To walk in step with the will of God, To discern the fine line— Between right and wrong, Between good and bad, Between joy and sorrow, the ebb and the swell. I pray— To be mindful, awake in each breath, To anchor myself in the present moment, Not lost in the shadows of what was, Nor chasing the mirages of what might be. To live now, wholly, and with open eyes, To cradle gratitude in my heart, Let it guide my tone, my touch, my being. I pray— For signs, plain and radiant, To light my path as I journey home to you. Grant me the eyes to see, the heart to know, The soul to trust in their truth. And with the time left to me, Here, on this vast and fleeting earth, Bless me with the power of love— Love that mends, that builds, that breathes life, Love that endures and outlives even the stars.
